The new year is upon us and I can hardly believe that 2013 has past by so quickly. In the spirit of 2014 and starting anew, I’ve decided to share with you a few goals that I try to set every year to keep my body and health in tip-top shape. If you have any to add, I’d love for you to comment below.

 1. Food and Nutrition. This is a goal that I aim for every year, as I believe it is of the utmost importance to our health. It is simple common sense, if you eat well, you will feel better. If you eat foods that are not good for your bodies, you aren’t going to feel well.

Sugar is one of the biggest concerns as it causes significant inflammation, which allows many disease processes to begin ( like cancer and heart disease).  I like to stay away from it and use alternative sweeteners like stevia, molasses and honey.

If you are stuck on what to eat, try out fresh fruits and vegetables as they are always a winner for the body and you can find a variety of options to get on that is just right for you.

 2. Exercise. Without exercise, our muscles begin to atrophy and we cannot keep up our stamina and health. Regular exercise along with good food and nutrition can help to guarantee a healthier lifestyle and body.

Two or three days a week, try to get in at least 20-30 minute of light to moderate exercise. If you have joint pain, try something simple like water aerobics or pilates to build back up your core. These low-impact exercises will help to get you active without straining your muscles.

 3. Regular Adjustments. Even as a chiropractor, when I follow both my other goals I still get an adjustment to keep my spine in alignment, and my nervous system working optimally. I encourage you to schedule regular adjustments to keep your body as healthy as possible.

Call our office anytime and leave a message. Pam would love to get back to you as soon as possible and get you in so we can get you back to 100%.
