November is the month of gratitude and thankfulness and I would like to take this the time in this blog post to talk about how gratitude can actually help your health.

Expressing gratitude actually affect the brain chemicals like dopamine, which in turn impact and can even improve your moods. It has been proven that people with higher levels of dopamine tend to feel more pleasure, euphoria and bliss. When you are happier, your pain and your problems are not at the forefront of your mind and you are able to focus on improving your whole self. This month I am thankful for my family, my community, my practice and the lovely women who I share it with, my dogs (check out my Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ErinKSimpsonDC) to see more pictures of them), and my husband. I am also grateful to be able to help so many people work to create better health for themselves and their families. What are you thankful for during this time of gratitude?
